Remembering the Mighty Eighth
The Spring Air Show commemorates the 70th anniversary of the United States Army Air Force arriving at RAF Duxford in April 1943. Historic US war birds and contemporary aircraft will take to the skies as we remember the time when the stars and stripes flew at RAF Duxford.
Stay with us on the evening of the 26th for a great bank holiday rate and enjoy one of our newly refurbished bedrooms with breakfast. A fantastic opportunity to see the first-ever display by the Eagle Squadron, the historic four-ship display of a Hawker Hurricane, Supermarine Spitfire Mark I, P-47 Thunderbolt and the P-51 Mustang Princess Elizabeth.

British Sandwich Week 12th – 18th May 2013
Celebrate the great British staple lunch box component; the sandwich. This was invented by John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich. Montagu was a serious gambler that would not like to leave the gaming table whilst playing so instead of having a break for dinner he would ask for some meat between two pieces of bread. From then on his gaming friends would say "I'll have what Sandwich is having". This eventually spread around the country to become a world norm for lunch or a snack.

Hire an antique British bicycle on a Cambridge bike tour such as a Kerry Great Britain from 1966 or a 1963 Hercules and cover Cambridge or rent out a bike and go along your own pathway by riding along the bike tracks around the city and along the river, it's a great day out especially when the sun is shining!

Meeting point is the lamp post in the middle of Parkers Piece, named Reality Checkpoint (there are no tours on Tuesdays). We are supporting vegetarian week by getting our veg on, our new head chef Nick O'Mahoney will be utilizing all the seasonal vegetables in his dishes and making innovative, inspiring vegetarian dishes!
